Paintings and drawings of landscapes, figures, flowers and natural forms in a variety of media. Figurative work that tries to reflect mood and atmosphere associated with the subject.

I live and work in Sheffield, mixing my time between my family, painting and work. I began painting in watercolour at evening class 20 years ago. I draw and paint from the life figure regularly, and have done so for more than ten years. More recently, I have been exploring painting in acrylics.

The subjects I paint usually have some connection with nature and organic forms. They include figurative paintings of landscapes, seascapes, flowers, plants and stones. The curves and slopes of landscapes and stones are reflected in my figure studies. I enjoy the way that light falls onto subjects, highlighting the shapes. I try to bring out a feeling of nature.

Many of my paintings are of things seen while on holiday, and from hill-walking which I enjoy. Paintings are in a variety of media including; acrylics, watercolour, aquarelle pencils, pastel, charcoal and pencil.

STUDIO: Walkley’s Natural Health Practice is transformed into a welcoming gallery for 3 days especially for Open Up.
