Ceramics rich in colour, pattern and texture, exploring the association between the man-made and natural world.

I am inspired by the intricate and beautiful structures abundant in the natural world like rock strata, fossils, skeletal remains, coral reefs and micro organisms.

My recent work explores containment and cages.

The medium of clay has fascinated me for many years. Using moulds, textured surfaces and the wheel keeps the work intermediate and fresh. Glazes enhance the plastic nature of the material and can also mimic other surfaces. Wood firing, raku and multiple stoneware and earthenware firings produce a rich and layered surface.

STUDIO: Visitors will be able to feel and handle sculptures and vessels, exhibited in a garden and home environment. Some refreshments.
