Spontaneous, high energy, impasto, oil paintings on canvas, Dark Peak, Cornish coastline and Sheffield inspired images. Large evolving studio and exhibition space.

I was born in Sheffield and I studied Fine Art to degree level in Nottingham and then completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Birmingham. I have been a full time painter for the last fifteen years. My work is exhibited widely in the United Kingdom.

The Dark Peak and North Yorkshire coastline has been a great influence upon my painting. The often bleak and exposed landscape of these areas has been a natural environment for me to develop a characteristic textural layering of paint and sand. My painting technique is very physical involving splattering, dripping, scraping and building up layers of material. These processes combine to reinforce the lack of permanence in the nature of landscape.
