As a “conceptual painter”, ideas are key, and each concept dictates the style of the image it leads to. My work draws on science, technology and art history.

My work aims to engage first visually, then intellectually. Small pieces often present a single distilled concept; larger ones are meshes of clues, connections, messages and meanings.

Though elements are easy to understand, every piece should have its secrets, being ambiguous enough to bear the weight of the viewer’s interpretation.

Recent work looks at aspects of society, communication, and culture which are being lost in our instant, digital, age.

STUDIO: I shall be showing as many as of my paintings, prints and books as I can. I am keen to explain, discuss, and hear opinions on my work and the processes behind it.

No. 82, 83 and 88 buses from City, alight outside Ecclesall Road Co-Op/Le Bistro Pierre. 5 minutes walk up Greystones Road (quite steep!), first road right after pub and shops.
