Paul Dearden and Trevor Pollard will be opening at Porter Brook Studios and also have an exhibition of paintings at the Workstation from 1-25 May 2012.
Paul Dearden and Trevor Pollard occupy adjacent studios at Porter Brook, part of the Yorkshire Artspace studio complex. This exhibition is timed to coincide with the Open Up - Artists Open Studios events in Sheffield during May.
Both artists began their art education in the early 1970’s, both studying for degrees in Fine Art, Paul at Leeds School of Art and Trevor at Hornsey College of Art. At the time, both Fine Art departments were highly regarded and somewhat controversial in their approach. Fast forward to 2012 and Sheffield to find both artists working in Yorkshire Artspace Porter Brook studios. The decision to hold a joint exhibition was born out of the realisation that both artists had recently embarked on a series of paintings - although very different in terms of inspiration and execution - that would complement each other in an exhibition setting.
